Tony Bernardo receives the 2008 Global Leadership Award

The Second Amendment Foundation, a U.S. based organization dedicated to promoting a better understanding about the constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms, has awarded the prestigious 2008 Global Leadership Award to the Canadian Institute for Legislative Action’s (CILA) Executive Director, Tony Bernardo.
The award was presented for Mr. Bernardo’s leadership in defending the rights of civilian firearms owners, both in Canada and abroad, from the United Nations Small Arms and Light Weapons initiatives and for his tireless efforts to promote private firearms ownership around the world.
Mr. Bernardo received this award at the 23rd annual Gun Rights Policy Conference held in Phoenix, AZ. Other award recipients were Alan Gura, Esq., counsel of record, D.C. v. Heller, noted scholar, John Lott, former NRA President Sandy Froman and Katie Kasprzak from the group, Students for Concealed Carry on Campus
Second Amendment Foundation founder Alan Gottlieb presented the 2008 Global Leadership award to Mr. Bernardo. Also in attendance was U.S. Senator. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), surrogate for Presidential Candidate John McCain and Libertarian Presidential Candidate, Bob Barr.
CILA’s Mr. Bernardo is Canada’s leading advocate for lawful firearms owners and has been at the forefront of protecting the rights of Canadians for the last 13 years.
