Do you ever wonder what happens to some or all of the money you donate to charitable and/or non-profit organizations?

There are many organizations who use the weak and defenceless to elicit donations from you, but who also use your donations to provide major funding for groups totally unrelated to their initial request.

As an example, some of the money you contribute to the United Way will find it's way directly or funnelled through other agencies to groups such as The Coalition for Gun Control.

As a gun owner I am outraged that some of the money I have donated in the past to The United Way was, without my knowledge or approval, used to fund Wendy Cukier's Coalition for Gun Control, an organization whose sole purpose is to restrict my rights, seize my private property and eliminate my sport.

When confronted, the United Way will try to convince you to donate by stating: "you can direct your donations." Do not fall into that trap. Remember it is always best to eliminate the middle man and donate directly to the cause you support.
